Job description

Purpose

The principle function of the Youth Pastor is to serve as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to lead the youth ministry of FBC Manning.

Qualifications

Must be a Christian.

Must be called by God to ministry.

Must have completed four years of college and/or a seminary degree.

Must be committed to the fellowship and ministries of the church.

Supervisor: Supervised by the Lead Pastor.

Responsibilities as Youth Pastor

• Oversee the ministries and activities for 6th -12th grades.
• Prepare and teach the youth Sunday school class.
• Prepare and teach the Wednesday evening youth Bible study.
• Prepare and publish a youth ministry calendar to present at the Church Council.
• Plan and lead “extra” activities (may include events like: retreats, “fun” trips, etc.)
• Plan and lead the annual youth mission trip.
• Plan and execute fundraisers for the youth mission trip.
• Attend students’ extracurricular events.
• Maintain communication with the parents of FBC Manning.
• Develop and recommend a youth ministry budget.
• Attend monthly deacon’s meetings.
