Job summary

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is offering a temporary Youth Internship in Natural Resources for 4 months, paying $17.00 per hour. The role supports Area 14 Law Enforcement and Southeast Education and Volunteer Sections, assisting with education programs, volunteer trainings, and customer service at the Southeast Region office.

Interns will ride along with officers, learn wildlife education activities, participate in data entry and specimen coordination, and help with sales of licenses and park

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to interact positively with the public in various situations.
  • Weekend and evening work is required.
  • Hunting and fishing experience helpful.
  • Applicants may be subject to successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
  • Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Support education programs such as school programs, fishing clinics, youth environmental education, and hunting clinics.
  • Assist with volunteer trainings and entering data for the Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Support the front desk at the Southeast Region office by providing customer service and handling licensing and park product sales.
  • Occasionally collect CWD samples and data from hunters when required.
