Job summary

The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division seeks a Youth Ministries Team Leader for the Rockford Temple Corps to oversee infant through high school programs and bridge graduates into adult ministries. Reporting to the Corps Officers, the role focuses on Youth Pastoral Care, programming, leadership development, and administrative duties, with an exempt, full-time position in Rockford, IL.

Qualifications include an undergraduate degree, 5 years youth work, and a valid driver’s license;

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred for candidates.
• Experience in youth ministry or child and family programs is expected.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work with volunteers and parents.
• Knowledge of church youth programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct leadership and discipleship of youth from infant to high school.
• Plan and implement youth programming, calendars, and events.
• Lead curriculum planning for middle and high school groups.
• Coordinate Vacation Bible School, music programs, teen ministry, and other youth activities.
• Oversee Safe-From-Harm policies and volunteer trainings.
• Record and manage program statistics and finances.
