Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory is seeking a Youth Ministries coordinator in Marion, OH to plan, organize, and facilitate quality youth programs under the supervision of Corps Officers. The role supports social services, volunteer, and community initiatives, and may assist with additional Salvation Army programs as needed.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, maintain daily devotions, and collaborate with corps officers to deliver engaging youth activities,

Qualifications

• Strong personal Christian values and high moral character.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to be a team member and function in a work situation to complete tasks.
• Intermediate level computer skills.
• Valid Driver's License and able to drive a 12 passenger van.
• A uniform wearing Salvationist preferred.
• Musical ability preferred but not required.
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
• Must complete KeepSafe courses and maintain confidentiality.
• Must embrace and promote the mission.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a daily devotional and prayer life.
• Weekly participation in Corps Worship Services.
• Coordinate evangelism, discipleship and leadership development for youth.
• Develop relationships with youth and families following Salvation Army policies.
• Recruit, train and supervise volunteer youth staff.
• Lead youth programs including Sunday School, cadets and Bible study.
• Provide transport and supervision for youth activities and events.
• Maintain attendance records and program statistics.
• Ensure a safe, clean and orderly program space.
• Attend required trainings and support Christmas ministries.
