Job summary

South Side Baptist Church in Abilene, TX seeks a dedicated youth pastor to lead middle and high school ministry, teach Scripture, and cultivate a vibrant youth culture under the elders.

Responsibilities

• Bleeds youth ministry. Loves middle and high school students passionately and lives to see them grow in their relationship with Christ.
• Build, lead, develop, and nurture a vibrant youth ministry.
• Recruit, equip, and multiply a layer of members who will serve on the youth ministry team.
• Teach Scripture in an engaging, relevant, and effective manner. Also oversee a rotation of additional teachers.
• Mobilize students to serve the church and city in various ways.
• Be present at school and sports events as an encourager and a missionary.
• Facilitate summer camp, D-Now, spring break mission trip, and other occasional fun events.
• Do the work of ministry: preach, teach, disciple, counsel, train, marry, bury.
• Assist the Lead Pastor as needs arise and available to perform other duties as assigned by the elders.

South Side Baptist Church (ssbaptist.org) is a growing church in a college town. We are committed to expositional preaching, Reformation theology, elder-led congregationalism, regenerate church membership, leadership training, complementarianism, and a culture of discipleship. Current membership is around 500 with $1.5M budget with overages every year.
