Job summary

Jefferson Center for Mental Health in Colorado aims to hire Milieu Staff (Residential Counselors) to provide milieu management, psychoeducation groups and ensure safety in the Crisis Stabilization Unit for children/youth. The interdisciplinary team serves youth with behavioral health issues, coordinating treatment and delivering tools and safety planning to help youths safely return home.

Applicants should be at least 21, have a HS diploma, preferably bilingual (English/Spanish), and pursue

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1 year experience in human services or 2 years of college required.
• Experience in mental health settings preferred (inpatient/residential/crisis prevention).
• Ability to facilitate group activities and produce high-quality documentation.
• Must be at least 21 years old and bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide milieu management, guidance, safety, stability, and direction to children/youth using a strengths-based approach.
• Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance.
• Interact with youth and families to provide guidance, safety, stability, and de-escalation.
• Acquire and maintain CPI certification; document admissions, shift notes, discharges, and MOR/AIR.
• Administer basic health tasks and assist with activities, groups, and treatment referrals as needed.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff regarding meals.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and safety procedures.
