Job summary

Jefferson Center for Mental Health in Denver, CO is seeking a CSU Pool Therapist to provide individual, family, and group therapy to children and youth admitted to the Crisis Stabilization Unit. The role includes initial assessments, directing clinical services, and assisting with case management and disposition planning.

The CSU team delivers 3-5 day crisis stabilization services, guided by an interdisciplinary staff.

Qualifications

• Conferred Master’s degree in a mental health or related field required.
• Clinical license preferred (Licensed Psychologist, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).
• Experience with children/youth and families in mental health settings.
• Skills in family therapy interventions, crisis interventions, culturally sensitive interventions, CBT, and other modalities.
• Understanding of trauma effects on youth in crisis stabilization units; knowledge of child development and attachment issues.
• Knowledge of stages of change and motivational interviewing.
• Computer skills (Microsoft Word) for EHR and report writing.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets with assigned children/youth, conducts clinical interviews, and develops treatment plans.
• Maintains caseload and oversees treatment services for each child/youth.
• Coordinates discharge planning and transition to community resources.
• Conducts individual, family, and group therapy; co-facilitates multi-family groups.
• Works with case managers and referrals to coordinate care.
• Maintains timely documentation with admission, progress, and discharge notes.
• Follows Jefferson Center policies and maintains professional boundaries.
• Assists in transitions to next level of care and participates in staffings.
