Job summary

International Rescue Committee in Wichita is seeking a Youth Mentoring Program Coordinator to design, implement, and grow a mentorship program for youth ages 15-24. You will develop outreach, onboarding and mentor training, screen mentors, recruit youth, and ensure high-quality mentorship activities with measurable outcomes.

This full-time, non-exempt role involves collaborating with educational and workforce partners, engaging clients and external stakeholders, and reporting on program

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in Education or related field.
• Minimum two years’ experience in education programs for children and youth, including supervision of staff or volunteers.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically in a multi-cultural setting and with limited-English proficiency speakers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the delivery of the youth mentoring program, including academic and recreational activities.
• Create and establish a process to recruit mentor volunteers in coordination with the Development Coordinator, including training and retention initiatives.
• Design and implement a outreach, engagement, training, and retention strategy for mentors of youth aged 15-24.
• Design and implement supplemental academic, recreational, and enrichment activities for participating youth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to receive referrals for eligible youth into the mentorship program and enroll them.
• Maintain ongoing communication with colleagues on status of programs, clients, and outcomes, with timely reports on management and contract issues.
