Job summary

The DREAM Program, Inc. seeks a Mentor & Strategic Development Coordinator to blend hands-on youth mentoring with organizational systems work in a hybrid AmeriCorps role.

You will recruit, train, and support volunteer mentors while advancing internal processes to expand access and equity for youth. You will collaborate across teams to implement new software, evaluate program workflows, and ensure mentors are well-prepared to deliver culturally responsive mentoring under the Village Mentoring

Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth.
  • Commitment to serve as a role model for youth.
  • Passion for supporting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
  • Experience in diverse, inclusive environments with social equity awareness.
  • Ability to manage time and set priorities.
  • Access to reliable wifi and power for telework/service.
  • Ability to regularly meet in person at assigned location and transport.
  • Access to a reliable phone.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and processes.
  • Research, recommend, and implement software solutions to optimize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration.
  • Monitor and evaluate program processes for improvement.
  • Develop tools, templates, and guidelines to facilitate operations.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteer mentors from college campuses.
  • Ensure mentors understand and implement the Village Mentoring model.
  • Collaborate with Youth Services Managers to assess mentee needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with mentors, mentees, and staff.
  • Support mentor retention, onboarding, transitions, and mentor-to-mentee ratios.
  • Assist with background checks, documentation, and required paperwork.
  • Attend and participate in weekly Village Mentoring sessions.
