Qualifications

• Knowledge of computers and electronic data processing.
• Working knowledge of library classification systems and basic office procedures.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks and interruptions.
• Ability to carry out moderate tasks with accuracy.
• Clear and effective written and spoken English communication.
• Ability to plan, organize and complete tasks in a timely fashion.
• Ability to organize and maintain records and files.
• Ability to analyze and prepare reports.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate the listed equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality where necessary.
• Must be able to work on-site during scheduled hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform circulation procedures on the Library automated system including check out, return, fines, reserves, and patron registrations.
• Pull items on daily paging list.
• Assist in maintaining Library collection by shelf-reading and shelving books.
• Answer telephone calls and provide circulation and program information.
• Empty book drops.
• Process and repair Library materials as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous duties such as checking book lists, preparing materials for patron packets, and assisting with projects and programs.
• Other tasks as directed by the Head of Youth Services, Youth Services Librarian, or Director of Library
