Job summary

BCFS Health & Human Services is seeking a Youth Empowerment Specialist to recruit, retain, and guide youth into the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) and to teach leadership and life skills to the YAC and partners as needed.

This role serves Cherokee County with frequent travel to Jacksonville and Rusk. It requires flexibility for after-hours and weekend activities, with a reliable personal vehicle and mileage reimbursement per policy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education or human services preferred.
• 2 years of experience working with youth aged 6-17 required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and retain youth for the YAC.
• Coordinate YAC meetings and agendas.
• Facilitate leadership curriculum for YAC and related participants.
• Complete intake assessments and post-tests.
• Support and supervise YAC/YLD projects.
• Travel as needed and support after-hours activities.
