Job summary

BCFS Health and Human Services seeks a Youth Empowerment Specialist to recruit and retain youth for the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) and to deliver leadership and life-skills curricula to the YAC and partner groups. The role covers Cherokee County with travel to Jacksonville and Rusk, and requires flexibility for after-hours and weekend activities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in social work, psychology, education or human services.
• 2 years of experience working with youth ages 6–17.
• Valid Texas Driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and retain youth to serve on the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC).
• Coordinate YAC meetings and agendas in line with grant requirements.
• Facilitate leadership curriculum for YAC and Youth Leadership D participants.
• Complete intake assessments and pre/post-tests required by the program.
• Travel frequently to Cherokee County, Jacksonville and Rusk; support after-hours/weekend activities.
