Job summary

Urban Peak Denver is seeking a Prep Cook to support dinner production, prep, and kitchen closing. You will supervise volunteers and youth on shift, ensuring trauma-informed guidance and respectful interaction.

The role requires strong culinary skills, the ability to follow recipes, and teamwork to coordinate with departments. The position includes volunteer supervision, meal service for up to 130 youth, and opportunities for growth within the program.

Qualifications

• Three years of culinary experience in a commercial kitchen or catering for large groups with three verifiable references.
• Experience or education in health and nutrition preferred.
• Proficient knife skills and basic culinary techniques for proteins, vegetables, starch and grain cookery.

Responsibilities

• Meal prep and service for up to 130 youth, following Kitchen Manager directions.
• Engage youth and volunteers, assign tasks and ensure kitchen safety.
• Close down kitchen, wash dishes and manage end-of-shift duties.
