Job summary

Urban Peak is seeking a Prep Cook to support dinner service, prep and production, and kitchen close with a focus on youth and volunteer engagement. You will follow recipes, manage kitchen equipment, and help ensure a smooth meal service for up to 130 youths.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed communication, teamwork, and safety, with opportunities to mentor volunteers and coordinate across departments.

Qualifications

• Three years of culinary experience in a commercial kitchen or catering for large groups.
• Experience or education in health and nutrition preferred.
• Proficient knife skills with knowledge of basic cooking techniques.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions to prep or assemble food for future meals and meals service.
• Lead meal service for up to 130 youth during shifts where applicable.
• Engage youth and volunteers, assign tasks, and ensure kitchen safety and cleanliness.
