Job summary

The Bronx District Attorney's Office seeks experienced attorneys for the Youth Justice Bureau (YJB) as Assistant District Attorneys. The role emphasizes youth justice, training others, and supervising arriagnment-related work within a 4pm-12am shift.

You will review charges, supervise the DAT Unit, and liaise with law enforcement and Family Court partners. Candidates should have a JD, NY Bar admission, and 4+ years of trial experience, with prior leadership and teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required.
• Admission to NY State Bar required.
• US Citizenship and New York State residency required.
• 4+ years of trial experience or equivalent; prior management experience preferred.
• 18 months experience in training or lecturing.
• Ability to supervise others in remote settings.
• Strong ethics and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Train newly hired and promoted ADA staff in case processing, interviewing witnesses, and courtroom procedures.
• Supervise ECAB operations and ensure arrest matters are drafted/arraigned within 24 hours.
• Review legal issues, charging, and facial sufficiency of accusatory instruments.
• Answer legal questions and review cases drafted by the DAT Unit.
• Handle inquiries from law enforcement agencies and the public.
• Supervise arraignment parts and address complex matters in court.
