Job summary

Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. in Waterbury seeks a Housing Coordinator to help Young Adult Services clients transition from structured housing to independent living in the community.

You will work with landlords and agencies in Waterbury to secure affordable rents while coordinating with the YAS team on budgets and benefits. You will also assist clients with housing/utility applications, manage lease processes, inspections, and potential evictions, and ensure compliance with DMHAS YAS

Qualifications

• Degree in a behavioral health field or comparable experience.
• Compliance with current State of Connecticut and federal health and vaccine requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing coordination services enabling clients to move to independent living.
• Coordinate with LMHA Project Managers and contractors as needed.
• Develop and maintain a list of landlords with available apartments.
• Be involved with securing and negotiating leases entered into by clients.
• Ensure lease agreements adhere to DMHAS YAS policies.
• Provide executed lease copies to LMHA Project Managers.
• Maintain a list of Residential Support Sites and vacancies.
• Oversee inspections per YAS policies and procedures.
• Handle damage claims and coordinate with the YAS treatment team.
• Coordinate evictions or vacancies with the treatment team.
• Address infestations with landlords per LMHA timelines.
• Work on housing issues and coordinate resources with the YAS team.
• Know available housing and utility assistance programs in LMHA areas.
• Assist clients in applying for housing/utility benefits and track outcomes.
• Collaborate with Financial Coordinator on budgets for rent subsidies.
• Prepare and submit monthly YAS Housing Financial Assistance reports to DMHAS.
