Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in property management, housing coordination, or real estate operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate client transitions from streets or shelters into housing options with timely occupancy.
  • Collaborate with YYA team to match participants based on safety, proximity, and client choice.
  • Manage move-in processes including unit readiness and paperwork.
  • Meet with clients on leases, program compliance, financial responsibilities, and rights.
  • Serve as primary liaison to landlords; recruit landlords willing to rent to YYAs.
  • Conduct weekly apartment inspections for compliance with regulations.
  • Provide consultation to case management on housing-related concerns and crises.
  • Educate clients on lease contracts and tenant rights.
  • Partner with Housing Director on program development, data collection, reporting.

Coordinate the daily operations of Daybreak’s housing programs to ensure smooth client transitions, strong landlord partnerships, and high-quality, youth-centered service delivery aligned with Housing First for Youth principles. The Housing Administrator facilitates client move-ins, maintains landlord relationships, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates with internal teams to address housing-related challenges. This role focuses on operational coordination and quality assurance, supporting a low-barrier, harm reduction approach that prioritizes stability, choice, and self-determination for youth and young adults (YYAs).

Essential duties include:
  • Coordinate client transitions from the streets or shelters into Daybreak housing options, ensuring timely placements and full occupancy
  • Collaborate with the YYA team to match participants with appropriate housing based on safety, proximity to transportation/school/work, and client choice
  • Manage the move-in process, including unit readiness (bedbug treatment, cleaning, painting, furnishings) and required paperwork
  • Meet with clients on lease agreements, program compliance, financial responsibilities, and tenant rights
  • Serve as the primary liaison to landlords — build relationships, market the program, negotiate leases, and recruit new landlords willing to rent to YYAs
  • Conduct and document weekly apartment inspections for Tax Credit, HUD, and funder compliance
  • Provide consultation to case management teams on housing-related concerns, client crises, conflict resolution, and discharges
  • Educate clients on lease contracts, tenant rights, and responsibilities
  • Partner with the Housing Director on program development, data collection, and reporting
  • Assist in developing and updating housing policies, procedures, and youth-friendly materials
QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in human services or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university required
  • At least 3 years of experience in property management, housing coordination, or real estate operations
Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high performance standards
