Job summary

Penquis is seeking a Project Coordinator in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine to directly engage youth facing housing insecurity and at-risk situations. You will support host homes, coordinate with schools, and partner with providers across the state in the Continuum of Care system.

You will build relationships with enrolled youth and approved host families, perform outreach, and help implement YHDP initiatives while working in a community-centered role with some remote duties.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree; 2-3 years volunteering and/or working with and for young people, especially in areas of self-advocacy, youth development, youth leadership or direct social services.
• 1-2 years of documented experience working with children and families.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.
• Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results per contract provisions.

Responsibilities

• Outreach within the community to raise program awareness; host home recruitment, training, and support; and direct services to program participants.
• Support youth and young adults 12-24 by findingappropriate support and placements at Host Homes, accessing needed resources and supporting identified goals.
• Coordinate and implement YHDP, including recruit Host Home placements.
• Provide training opportunities for Host Home members.
• Identify youth in need of support and recruit youth participants.
• Network with schools, other youth-serving providers, community groups, and public services to raise program awareness.
• Participate in statewide Continuum of Care meetings and YHDP grantee meetings.
