Job summary

PENQUIS in Bangor, ME, is hiring a full-time Project Coordinator for our Juvenile Restorative Justice program. The role leads coordination and delivery of services, including referrals and facilitation, primarily based at the Bangor location with a hybrid schedule for remote admin and in-person community work.

The ideal candidate has an associate’s degree and 2-3 years of youth-focused experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and 2-3 years of experience with youth or at-risk youth.
• Experience working with teens and understanding family systems.
• Solid computer proficiency and word processing ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrated in community work.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and a valid driver's license with reliable transport.
• Completion of facilitator training or ability to complete required training.
• Must meet Penquis background check requirements as outlined in contract provisions.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals from Department of Corrections and community referrals with the Division Manager.
• Coordinate and facilitate restorative programming.
• As lead facilitator, contact referral sources, youth/parents/guardians, and other parties.
• Represent the program in the community and conduct outreach to build capacity.
• Support outreach to engage communities in Penobscot, Piscataquis and Somerset Counties.
• Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and partner meetings; attend supervision and department meetings.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, data tracking, reporting, and QA standards.
