Job summary

Detroit Red Wings, Inc. is seeking a Hockey Coordinator to plan and run youth hockey programming, events, fundraising, and community engagement for the LCAAA and LCAHL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sports management, business, event management, or a related field.
• 4+ years of administrative, event, sports operations, or program coordination experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Outlook, and Oracle database systems.
• Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
• Experience managing events, budgets, vendors, and multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends during the hockey season and special events.

Responsibilities

• Manage annual operations for youth hockey programs, showcases, and special events.
• Oversee registration platforms, team documentation, and operational systems.
• Lead team manager support, policy administration, and program logistics.
• Manage league and team communications with managers, coaches, and families.
• Maintain program records, reports, calendars, and operational documentation.
• End-to-end team reimbursement process, including review, approval, tracking, reconciliation support, and monthly submission to accounting.
• Distribution of registration and financial reports to the teams.
• Support team budget planning and participate in monthly financial review meetings.
• Oversee new vendor documentation and coordinate invoice processing with accounting.
• Partner with accounting to ensure effective management of team financial activities and obligations.
• In collaboration with the Detroit Red Wings Foundation, administer 50/50 fundraising operations, including volunteer coordination, documentation, compliance requirements, and game-day execution.
• Manage donor records, stewardship activities, acknowledgment communications, and IRS-compliant donor recognition documentation.
• Coordinate sponsorship fulfillment activities, including collateral management, benefit tracking, and partner communications.
• Maintain donor databases, ensuring accurate records and timely follow-up.
• Support the development and execution of future fundraising initiatives and revenue-generating opportunities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for team managers, vendors, volunteers, and stakeholders.
• Oversee operational communications, websites, newsletters, program updates, and youth sports platform.
• Support LCAHL promotional campaigns for league programming, community initiatives, and special events.
• Maintain communication with sponsors and community partners.
