Job summary

The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a Youth Health & School-Based Support Community Health Worker to engage tribal youth, partner with schools, youth programs, and community organizations, and promote healthy behaviors through culturally grounded approaches.

You will educate on substance use prevention, sexual health, and risk reduction, support youth wellness activities, and help connect at-risk youth to services while maintaining confidentiality and documenting outreach activities.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must complete 75-hour State approved Nursing Assistant course and be on State Registry.
• Must complete 40-hour Medication Aide course and be on State Registry.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Engage youth in positive, culturally relevant activities with tribal youth programs and schools.
• Educate youth on substance use prevention, sexual health, and risk reduction.
• Develop and facilitate youth wellness activities and outreach events.
• Build trust with youth to encourage open communication and healthy choices.
• Promote holistic wellness using trauma-informed approaches.
• Identify at-risk youth and connect them to support services.
