Office of the Public Advocate in Phoenix is seeking a Child Social Worker to support attorneys representing children in dependency, severance, and delinquency matters. You will engage with youths aged 8–17, assess needs, and coordinate services to safeguard their safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• One year of direct experience within the child protection system as a case worker or social worker.
• Two or more years of related experience in child welfare preferred.
• Master's degree or higher encouraged for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Meets with and communicates with the child in detention facilities, offices, or placements to discuss history, needs and services.
• Educates the child in court processes, case plans, and recommended services.
• Identifies suitable residential treatment centers, group homes, foster homes, and outpatient programs.
• Participates in multi-disciplinary meetings to advocate for the child and take notes for the attorney.
• Interprets information and advises on case direction and required services.
• Reviews reports, records, and assessments to inform care planning and court testimony when needed.
