Job summary

City and County of Denver seeks a Social Case Worker to support Child Welfare Services in the Greater Denver Area. The role involves intake and permanency work with a focus on protecting children and supporting families, including court-related duties and collaboration with law enforcement and community partners.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with on-site and field components, and requires a bachelor’s degree plus relevant human services experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to child welfare per CDHS Volume 7/30 regulations.
• Experience in human services or related agency required by CDHS rules.
• Licensure: valid driver's license and post-hire social caseworker certification in Child Welfare or Adult Protective Services.

Responsibilities

• Performs case management for complex cases, assesses needs, develops service or treatment plans, and provides counseling and referrals.
• Maintains case records, reports, and documents per state and federal standards; supports court processes and testifies as needed.
• Represents the department in accordance with regulations and coordinates with community partners to ensure client safety and well‑being.
