Job summary

CAMBA is seeking a Recreation Coordinator in East Elmhurst, NY. You will organize and lead recreational activities, coordinate events, and ensure client confidentiality while working with a diverse community.

You will collaborate with staff, volunteers, and funders to meet program goals, document progress, and provide engaging activities for clients within a supportive shelter environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required or candidates enrolled and on track to complete within three months.
• Four (4) years of applicable experience are required.
• Bilingual ability in English plus another language is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.
• Organize and lead recreational/ADL activities to enhance social development.
• Facilitate and/or teach physical education, arts, music, or drama.
• Plan and organize activities to maximize program contract's goals and performance targets.
• Plan, coordinate and facilitate social/peer support events, including group facilitation for clients.
• Input client data using the DHS CARES database, as needed.
• Escort clients, as needed.
• Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and funders.
• Ensure compliance with DHS policies governing access, privacy and recording.
• Safeguard confidentiality and privacy of clients.
• Coordinate recreational activities involving volunteers and external partners.
• Monitor activities to prevent unauthorized photography or recording.
