Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years experience working with children and adolescents in a structured environment.
• Supports the social teaching of the Catholic Church.
• Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility; non-judgmental attitude.
• Ability to forge mutually respectful partnerships with supervisors, co-workers and clients with sensitivity to cultural differences.
• Effective communication, organizational and domestic skills.
• Commitment to empowering others to solve problems.
• Valuing a nurturing family as the ideal environment.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently.
• Valid Florida driver’s license.
• Ability to work irregular hours.
• Excellent and professional telephone manner, confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Researches and coordinates all aspects of community events for children and families.
• Coordinates a partnership with local businesses and churches to sponsor children's events, trips, and celebrations.
• Provides age appropriate social and educational activities.
• Promotes a baseline values system through educational materials.
• Enhances self-esteem through a positive reward system with specific target goals to achieve.
• Observes and documents changes in behaviors relative to participation in the group.
• Demonstrates good sportsmanship, teamwork and respect for each other.
• Promotes healthy and safe fun.
• Assists the full-time staff with duties as needed.
• Aware of residents' issues through reading charts/logs to better assist the children's needs.
• Assist parents with responsible parenting.
• Assist with agency meetings and training sessions as required.
• Participates on CQI team (Full time only) and weekly treatment team meetings.
• Develops a monthly curriculum for group times.
• Distributes pre/post tests on self-esteem, behavior, etc.
• Provides data to Case Manager for statistics and grant reports.
• Provides information to Development and Relationship Manager on budgeting and other needs.
• Documents case notes in agency database—Client Track.
• Oversees volunteers during Monday night meetings.
• Coordinates tutoring and academic resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
