Job summary

South Bay Community Services seeks a Youth and Family Development Associate to deliver intervention services to school‑age youth within a community prevention framework. You will build trust, empower youth, and connect families with counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy, and resources.

The role operates within a team to align with SBCS mission and program goals. The position emphasizes trauma‑informed practice, documentation, and collaboration with multiple agencies, while supporting at‑risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or approved equivalency in related field.
• 1–2 years’ experience in child, youth, and family services.
• Experience in individual, group, and family counseling, outreach and case management.
• Ability to handle confidential information and HIPAA considerations.
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct one‑on‑one services to at‑risk youth, including trauma‑informed case management.
• Develop family‑based assessments and strength‑based service plans.
• Coordinate with police, probation and service agencies; deliver presentations as needed.
• Lead group sessions on youth leadership, parenting, and prevention topics.
• Maintain accurate case files, quarterly/annual reports, and regulatory compliance.
