Job summary

Erie County Office of Children & Youth Services is seeking an entry-level Caseworker to support families and youth in need, providing case management and counseling under supervision. You will participate in trainings to learn laws and procedures, perform interviews and home visits, and refer clients to community resources as needed.

The role emphasizes safety planning, collaboration with agencies, and maintaining careful documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience with case records/documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts directly with client families to gather and assess information, and evaluate risk and safety.
• Works with treatment teams and community providers to coordinate services.
• Reports child abuse or neglect to ChildLine and Intake and prepares related documentation.
• Gathers information for court proceedings, testifies under supervision when required, and prepares court summaries.
• Develops safety plans and makes referrals to other public or private social services.
