Job summary

YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a Specialty Program Instructor to lead and document lessons for enrolled children. You will plan, organize, and execute activities, prepare for program presentations, and ensure a safe, positive environment that encourages participation and growth.

The role requires you to model appropriate behavior, follow program rules, maintain attendance records, and comply with safety and background screening requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with specialty program offerings.
• Experience working with children.
• Enthusiasm for the arts and children.
• Ability to adhere to a drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy.
• Able to maintain confidentiality.
• Must complete Florida background check requirements.
• Employment contingent upon Level 2 background screening.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and document each lesson.
• Organize, plan and execute activities for enrolled children.
• Prepare for special program presentations.
• Monitor safety and adjust as needed.
• Provide a positive environment and encourage participation.
• Model appropriate behavior and be a patient role model.
• Enforce program rules and safety policies.
• Record daily attendance and maintain records.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings.
• Uphold cleaning protocols and safety requirements.
