Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking an Employment Specialist to support youth ages 16–24 in achieving competitive employment and educational goals through person-centered, culturally responsive planning, coaching, and skill development.

The role promotes youth voice, self-sufficiency, and career readiness while advancing equitable access to workforce and post‑secondary opportunities. Join a diverse workplace with ongoing training and growth opportunities at LSS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred in HR, social work, youth development, or related field.
• 1–2 years experience working with youth experiencing homelessness or similar populations.
• Training in youth development, harm reduction, and/or trauma‑informed care.
• Familiar with computer programs and database systems.
• Use of personal vehicle for agency business.
• Adequate communication skills.
• Ability to document accurately and complete case noting and reporting.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Comply with Lutheran Social Service’s standards of confidentiality.
