Job summary

Sealaska Heritage Institute in Juneau is seeking a dedicated coordinator to assist with the Juneau YouthBuild and Cultural Warriors programs. You will support recruitment, services registration, and help participants build job-seeking skills while guiding them through available resources.

The role requires collaboration with program staff, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Some travel or driving a company vehicle may be required as part of duties and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in career counseling, education, psychology, sociology or a related field preferred.
• Notable professional experience in a related field may substitute for post-secondary education.
• Preferred minimum two years working as a case manager, youth development specialist, or related position.
• Experience with managing documentation for multiple funding streams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support program staff in recruiting, enrolling, supporting, retaining, and advocating for participants.
• Support program staff in regular check-ins with participants and established participants.
• Assist with resource development and guide participants through resources as needed.
• Work with participants in developing job-seeking and professional skills.
• Ensure trainees are prepared before job interviews and conduct follow-ups with graduates.
• Plan and organize job-search skills workshops including interviewing, resume prep, and other skills.
• Conduct follow-ups with program completers and graduates; maintain partner relationships.
• Provide follow-up support services to participants as needed.
• Attend required training and professional development opportunities.
