Job summary

Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth & Families seeks an Education Coordinator to lead the learning center and educational support for youth in care. The role collaborates with House Parents, Residential Services, school personnel, volunteers, and interns to advance academics, readiness, and advocacy.

The ideal candidate is mission-driven, a strong communicator, organized, and experienced with children and youth in educational, residential, nonprofit, or ministry settings.

Qualifications

• Commitment to the mission and Christian ministry of Black Mountain Home.
• Strong communication, organization, problem solving, tutoring, academic support and advocacy.
• Experience with children and youth in educational, residential, nonprofit, or ministry settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coordination for the learning center and educational support services.
• Serve as liaison with the school system and represent Black Mountain Home in school-related meetings.
• Manage educational programs and resources and address academic needs, school trips, testing, summer school, and higher learning preparation.
