Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field or accepted alternative with certification requirements.
• Valid teaching certificate or pathway to obtain one within specified timelines.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Implement group and individual education plans; plan class work and learning materials.
• Work as part of a teaching team; develop and evaluate IEPs; confer with parents and students.
• Adhere to state and federal testing guidelines and mandates; prepare progress reports.
• Maintain scholastic and attendance records; administer and score pre/post tests.
• Provide Awareness Supervision for youth with responsibility for safety, conduct, care and education.
• Maintain security and participate in physical restraints during emergencies to prevent escapes.
• Dispense medications to youth as required.
• Role-model appropriate behaviors; transport and escort youth as needed.
