Job summary

Phipps Houses and Affiliates is seeking an Education Coordinator to support education programming for youth ages 14 to 24 in SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (SYEP) and Work, Learn and Grow (WLG). This full-time role coordinates facilitators, curriculum, school partnerships, and required program documentation year-round.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience facilitating youth education, work readiness, or college and career readiness activities.
• Experience coordinating staff or program activities and working with schools, families, or community partners preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills, with attention to documentation and deadlines.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and participant tracking systems; familiarity with DYCD or DOE systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, update, deliver, and evaluate work readiness, college readiness, and career exploration curricula for SYEP and WLG participants.
• Facilitate lessons and workshops, model positive youth development practices, and adapt activities to ages and learning needs.
• Coordinate workshop schedules, orientations, trips, and related activities; accompany participants as a chaperone when needed.
• Recruit, onboard, schedule, and provide day-to-day guidance to facilitators in partnership with the Education Manager; observe sessions and offer feedback.
• Monitor facilitator schedules, attendance, enrollment, classroom experience, and program quality; coordinate follow-up.
• Maintain accurate records in internal systems and external databases, including DYCD Connect, and support timely reports and audits.
• Build relationships with school sites, families, and community partners; communicate progress and coordinate solutions.
• Assist the Education Manager with training, curriculum improvements, and SYEP/WLG requirements.
