Job summary

Tri-County Community Action Agency seeks a part-time percussion instructor to work with youth at the R E Campus S07 in Bridgeton, NJ. You will provide technical and musical instruction during rehearsals and help run shows.

Responsibilities include supervising rehearsals, communicating with youth, staff and families, managing equipment purchases within the program budget, and developing percussion shows while maintaining safety and engagement.

Qualifications

• High school degree or higher.
• Experience in percussion performance.
• Experience in percussion writing or percussion instruction.
• Excellent communication with staff, youth, and families.
• Willingness to complete required clearances.
• Standing for up to 1-2 hours at a time.
• Able to work under stress and handle interruptions.
• Ability to supervise and direct student parts.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and musical instruction during rehearsals to youth.
• Run rehearsals for and provide technical and musical instruction to the youth.
• Develop percussion shows.
• Communicate with youth, staff, and families regarding rehearsals and performances.
• Select, maintain, and distribute equipment within the program budget.
• Supervise students during rehearsals and shows.
