Job summary

Tri-County Community Action Agency seeks a part-time percussion instructor to work with youth at the R E Campus S07 in Bridgeton, NJ. You will provide technical and musical instruction during rehearsals and help run shows.

Responsibilities include supervising rehearsals, communicating with youth, staff and families, managing equipment purchases within the program budget, and developing percussion shows while maintaining safety and engagement.

Qualifications

• High school degree or higher.
• Experience in percussion performance.
• Experience in percussion writing or percussion instruction.
• Excellent communication with staff, youth, and families.
• Willingness to complete required clearances.
• Standing for up to 1-2 hours at a time.
• Able to work under stress and handle interruptions.
• Ability to supervise and direct student parts.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $30.00

HourlyTravel Percentage: Up to 25%

A. Provide technical and musical instruction during rehearsals to youth involved

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school degree or higher.
• Experience and/or expertise in percussion performance.
• Experience and/or expertise in percussion writing or percussion instruction.
• Effective communication with staff, youth, and families.
• Professionalism and positive disposition.
• Has completed or is willing to complete all necessary clearances
• Physical Demands: Standing for up to 1-2 hours at a time (approximately 50+% of the time)
• Temperament: Must possess excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
• Able to make judgments and work under high levels of stress. Cognitive Ability: Ability to demonstrate technique and perform student parts
• To follow directions and give direction to others.
• To complete assigned tasks without supervision.
