Job summary

The Boys’ Club of New York Inc is seeking a Drums Teacher to deliver on-site programs, in single or group settings, at our Harlem/Upper East Side location. You will run 30-minute sessions, supervise groups, and help with end-of-season performances.

Qualifications include instrument teaching experience and professional musicianship; prior youth-development work is preferred. Part-time, non-exempt position with 16 hours/week and $30/hour. Location: 321 East 111th St, New York, NY 10029.

Qualifications

• Education and teaching experience in the instrument you are applying for.
• Professional Musicians with performing experience preferred.
• Previous experience in youth development, education, or afterschool.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a group of 10-21 boys (ages 7-9 or 10-12)
• Teach half-hour sessions per working day scheduled (Some one-on-one, some small group sessions)
• Record Annual Pre and Post Observations
• Keep Attendance Records (Parent outreach when needed)
• Work in small groups for end of season performances
• Care of equipment in State-of-the-Art studios
