Job summary

Devereux Massachusetts seeks a Direct Support/Care Professional to supervise and support youth in a 2nd shift residential program in Rutland, MA. You will implement DBT-informed individual and group therapy activities and help youth develop essential life skills in a structured setting.

The role emphasizes safety, empathy, and collaboration with clinicians to support clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders and related challenges, offering opportunities for professional growth and impact.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Living Skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.
