Job summary

Identity, Inc. seeks a Youth Development Specialist (YDS) to plan and implement curriculum-based programs using the Positive Youth Development model. The YDS collaborates with the Program Coordinator to ensure fidelity, collects data, and coordinates family services with POWs.

This in-person role emphasizes attendance, reading proficiency, and socio-emotional skill development in school settings. The position requires a bachelor’s degree related to social work or psychology, at least two years’

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years of experience working with youth or community outreach/enrichment program(s).
• Training in Stages of Change, coaching, counseling, or adolescent development is a plus.
• Must be able to pass a federal criminal background check and a Child Protective Services background check.
• Must complete trainings upon hire: Advancing Youth Development, Child Protective Services, HIPAA, CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements sessions with co-facilitator(s) in accordance with curriculum.
• Keeps parents and youth informed of program activities and provides mentoring, crisis intervention, and conflict mediation.
• Establishes professional relationships with school administration, staff, and partner organizations.
• Ensures outreach and recruitment in schools and the community to meet targets.
• Maintains regular contact with youth and POWS for Family Wellness Plans.
• Performs administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and session material preparation.
