Job summary

The Salvation Army in Middle River, MD is seeking a part-time driver and program assistant for the Red Shield Youth Center. The role supports youth programs, transports members as needed, and helps maintain a safe, engaging environment for youth development.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. 25–29 hours per week with benefits. This position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and mission alignment within the Maryland Corps.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading center members and activities in a specific program area.
• Safely transport center members and staff to or from school, activities or programs and report maintenance, cleanliness, and safety needs of the vehicle.
• Participate in Salvation Army ministry advancement by collaborating with Salvation Army Officers to provide an engaging environment for youth development.
• Assist in maintaining facility and equipment; report repairs and janitorial needs to supervisor.
