Job summary

Kids for the Future in Lincoln, Nebraska seeks a dedicated Youth Program Director to lead direct programming for children on site, ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment, and align activities with the organization's mission.

The ideal candidate holds a 4-year degree, 1–2 years of experience with children, CPR and First Aid certification, and a passion for empowering families and communities through youth development.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors Degree in a related field; 1-2 years of previous experience working with children.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) and Basic First Aid certification required at time of employment or to be completed within 60 days of start of employment

Responsibilities

• Implement direct programming according to and consistent with Family Service Lincoln's mission and program philosophy.
• Provides direct interaction with youth, in small and large groups, while monitoring the total environment.
• Implement daily activities in an engaging and inclusive manner that encourages participation.
• Implement a daily schedule that is flexible for spontaneous learning opportunities
• Ensure that all program areas (indoor and outdoor) are clean, organized, and safe.
• Communicate and interact with youth and families in positive ways.
• Encourage youth to make responsible choices in line with Family Service Lincoln and site expectations.
• Help provide and nurture a family-centered program.
• Maintain the safety and security of youth at all times.
• Communicate, cooperate, and be respectful of fellow team members.
• Complete necessary paperwork on time.
• Attend Weekly Site Supervisor Meetings.
• Complete performance evaluations and supervise teacher Assistants.
