Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a Youth Development Site Coordinator to lead our after-school program at Echo Elementary School. This role combines leadership, program design, and operations management to deliver safe, engaging activities for school-age children.

Ideal candidates have experience supervising staff, strong communication, and knowledge of Virginia DOE licensing. A valid driver's license is required and this is a full-time onsite role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising staff and supporting program operations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience leading groups of youth.
  • A positive, enthusiastic leadership style.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Virginia DOE licensing qualifications (college-level coursework in a related field or CDA required).
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, planning, and implementing engaging, age-appropriate developmental programs.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of the child care center.
  • Supervising and mentoring on-site staff.
  • Creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for school-age children.
  • Building strong relationships with children and families and serving as a key point of communication.
  • Collaborating with school officials and YMCA leadership.
  • Ensuring compliance with Virginia DOE licensing requirements and YMCA quality standards.
  • Managing site safety, equipment, and facilities.

What You'll Do

Salary Range: $43,000 - $45,000 per year
