Job summary

The DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS) seeks a Youth Development Representative to supervise and engage youth in its secured programs. You will work under the Deputy Director of Secured Programs, guiding daily activities, safety, and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities include transporting youth to court, leading group sessions, documenting incidents, and supporting behavior management programs.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
• One year of specialized experience or equivalent to perform the duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision and positive engagement of youth in care.
• Transport youth to court and supervise activities, ensuring safety.
• De‑escalate conflicts and assist with discipline per policies.
• Document incidents in the information system and logs.
• Participate in Youth Family Team meetings and behavior programs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
