Job summary

The Unit Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Moody County leads day-to-day operations, public relations, and safety for all Units in the community. They serve as the face of the Club locally and ensure implementation of the 5 Key Elements of Positive Youth Development, while overseeing policy compliance, programming, safety, and culture.

They report to the Chief Operating Officer, supervise staff, engage regularly with parents and the administration team, and uphold the Club's mission across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated experience working with youth preschool through 12th grade.
• Proven management and supervisory experience, ideally in a youth-serving or nonprofit environment.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, mentor, and hold staff accountable.
• Positive, solutions-oriented outlook.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Deep understanding of youth development principles aligned with the Club's values.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Club operations, ensuring a safe, well-run environment for members and staff.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
• Lead on behavior management, program effectiveness, and safety compliance.
• Represent the Club in the community and build relationships with schools and families.
• Lead planning and oversight of events, grants, and publications.
• Monitor budgets and ensure resources align with priorities.
