Job summary

The Unit Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Moody County leads day-to-day operations, public relations, and crisis management for all units and sites in the community. They serve as the Club face locally, ensuring implementation of Positive Youth Development and overseeing policy compliance, programming, safety, and culture.

The role engages regularly with parents, staff, and the admin team, upholding the Club’s mission and core values of excellence, impact, teamwork, and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated experience working with youth preschool through 12th grade.
• Proven management and supervisory experience, ideally in a youth-serving or nonprofit environment.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, mentor, and hold staff accountable.
• Positive, solutions-oriented outlook.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Deep understanding of youth development principles and behavior management aligned with the Club's core values.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Club operations, ensuring a safe, well-run environment for members and staff.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and motivate staff; conduct performance reviews and manage disciplinary actions.
• Lead on youth behavior plans and ensure behavior policy compliance and safety standards.
• Represent the Club in the community and build relationships with school personnel and families.
• Lead planning and oversight for events, grants, and program reporting.
• Monitor budgets and resource allocation to align with priorities.
