Job summary

D.A. Blodgett- St. John's in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Development Specialist to provide direct care and supervision to youth within our Campus Programs, including Independent Living and Residential services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required by state licensing authority; some college coursework preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Experience with and/or volunteering with children; experience with adolescents with emotional/behavioral challenges preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop nurturing relationships with youth and maintain clear roles and boundaries.
• Ensure supervision, health, and safety of youth; promote a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Follow treatment programs and participate in problem-solving as part of a treatment team.
• Provide positive role modeling and maintain thorough written records and communication.
• Plan and conduct therapeutic activities and recreational programs for youth; assist with meals as needed.
