Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast is seeking a Youth Development Professional to join our Guadalupe Jr High program. The role focuses on building relationships, creating a safe, engaging place for kids to learn, have fun and grow.

You will mentor, tutor and lead developmentally appropriate activities, guide behavior, supervise youth, and coordinate with families, school partners and volunteers on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience working with school-aged youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with youth and serve as a mentor and role model.
• Plan and lead fun, educational and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Encourage youth to participate, try new things and develop confidence.
• Provide positive behavior guidance and help youth strengthen social-emotional skills.
• Actively supervise members and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Help with tutoring, mentoring and cooperative learning activities.
• Communicate with youth, families, coworkers and school partners.
• Maintain attendance, program and member records.
