Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast is seeking a Youth Development Professional to mentor middle school students after school, creating a safe, engaging environment where they can connect, learn, and thrive.

You’ll build relationships, support academic success, lead programs in leadership, STEM, arts, wellness, and career exploration, and collaborate with families, school staff, and community partners to empower youth to reach their potential.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least one year of experience working with youth aged 10+.
  • 48+ college units or para-educator certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to mentor and connect with middle school students.
  • Strong relationship-building and accountability required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead programs focused on leadership, academics, recreation, STEM, arts, wellness, and career exploration.
  • Build relationships with middle school youth as a trusted mentor and positive role model.
  • Foster a welcoming, respectful, inclusive, and empowering environment.
