Job summary

YMCA of Central Florida is seeking a Co-teacher to implement and supervise daily activities for youth in our afterschool program, fostering social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth in a safe, organized environment. The role requires a minimum age of 16, 1 year of childcare experience, and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications plus Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years or older.
• 1 year of childcare experience preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and healthy environment to operate a quality afterschool program.
• Assist in planning and implementing daily lesson plans.
• Ensure the safety of children and quality of supplies and materials.
• Maintain sign-in/out procedures for children daily.
• Report accidents and log health/incidents.
• Share housekeeping duties and prepare for activities.
• Report suspicious behavior and policy violations.
• Follow mandated child abuse reporting requirements.
• Supervise high-risk activities and emergencies as needed.
• Participate in member retention, events and fundraising.
