The YMCA of the Inland Northwest is seeking an Assistant Teacher at Whitman Elementary to support inclusive early learning and nurture positive relationships with children, families, and staff. The role emphasizes collaborative teamwork and adherence to licensing and YMCA standards.

Responsibilities include supervising classrooms, maintaining records, and engaging children in developmentally appropriate activities while upholding the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Early Childhood Education Certificate preferred.
• Experience with children in diverse settings preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Negative TB test within 6 months and MMR vaccination required.
• DCYF MERIT, Blood Borne Pathogens, portable background check required.
• 30 Hours Basic Training or Educational Exemption within 30 days of hire.
• ADA understanding and commitment to inclusive practices.
• Ability to relate positively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Responsabilidades

• Cultivate positive relationships with children, families and co-workers.
• Support in classrooms by supervising, engaging, and nurturing children in purposeful programming.
• Adheres to Washington State DCYF Licensing, Early Achievers and YMCA standards and safety procedures.
• Assist in ongoing observations and maintenance of program records as requested.
• Maintain a clean and organized learning environment.
• Engage with children, families and staff during family nights, program activities and trainings.
• Model the YMCA Four Character Development Principles: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility.
