Job summary

Paulding County Schools seeks a 4-H Program Assistant to support the County Extension Agent in planning, developing, and conducting county 4-H programs. You will supervise staff, teach youth, and coordinate tasks for ongoing youth activities, trainings, and events.

The role involves transporting youth to events, providing resources, and assisting with day-to-day program operations. Light to moderate lifting and flexible hours (some evenings) may apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to relate effectively to young people and adults.
• Extensive knowledge in the program area of responsibility.
• Knowledge of interests and behavior of participants.
• Skill in planning a variety of programs for target audiences.
• Ability to supervise the work of others.
• Must complete 4-H Risk Management Training.
• Proficiency in word processing and data management software (Word/PowerPoint/Excel).

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, schedules, and conducts a variety of program activities and events with youth.
• Supervises and trains other Program Assistants.
• Teaches and supervises youth in classrooms and at events.
• Supervises and transports youth at events, activities, and field trips.
• Serves in a training role for volunteer leaders by providing ideas and materials.
• Attends local, district, and state program activities in place of the County Extension Agent.
• Assists the County Extension Agent by researching and providing information requested by clients.
